Rice Street McCarrons Area Reconstruction

Ramsey County, in coordination with the cities of Saint Paul, Roseville and Maplewood, is creating a new design for Rice Street between Wheelock Parkway and County Road B. The road reconstruction is scheduled to begin in 2028. This initiative continues a series of reconstruction projects along the Rice Street corridor south of Wheelock Parkway and will be developed in coordination with Metro Transit's METRO G Line BRT Project

Rice Street is a hub of activity, connecting three vibrant cities and serving a diverse mix of residents, travelers, visitors, businesses, and modes of travel. The existing roadway is aging, and safety and traffic concerns are on the rise, especially with growth and development in surrounding communities.

Input from community members will help the project team deliver a road design that improves safety and mobility for all modes of travel, strengthens the surrounding businesses and neighborhoods, and aligns with the surrounding community's vision for the future.
